Responsibilities
- Strategic Oversight: Develop and implement operational strategies that drive efficiency, reduce waste, and improve overall throughput in the Portland facility.
- Team Leadership: Lead, mentor, and develop a high-performing team of supervisors, coordinators, and logistics staff, fostering a culture of accountability and excellence.
- Process Optimization: Analyze complex operational data to identify bottlenecks and implement continuous improvement initiatives (Lean/Six Sigma) that significantly cut costs.
- Financial Management: Manage the departmental budget, forecasting expenses, and negotiating vendor contracts to maximize ROI and ensure profitability.
- Compliance & Safety: Ensure strict adherence to all safety regulations, OSHA standards, and company policies to maintain a zero-accident workplace.
- Vendor Relations: Collaborate with external partners and carriers to ensure seamless supply chain integration and high service levels.
Qualifications
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Supply Chain Management, or Logistics is required; an MBA is preferred.
- Experience: Minimum of 5 years of progressive experience in operations management or supply chain logistics.
- Technical Skills: Proficiency in ERP systems (SAP, Oracle, or Microsoft Dynamics) and advanced data analytics tools.
- Leadership: Proven track record of managing budgets over $1M and leading cross-functional teams of 10+ people.
- Problem Solving: Strong analytical skills with the ability to make data-driven decisions under tight deadlines.
- Communication: Excellent interpersonal and verbal communication skills, with the ability to influence stakeholders at all levels.
