Responsibilities
- Provide direct patient care in acute care settings with attention to clinical protocols
- Administer medications and treatments accurately while monitoring patient responses
- Collaborate with physicians and healthcare team to develop patient care plans
- Document patient information and maintain electronic health records (EHR)
- Supervise LVNs and nursing assistants ensuring quality care standards
- Participate in continuous quality improvement initiatives
- Respond to emergency situations with calm professionalism
Qualifications
- Active RN license in Texas (compact license accepted)
- BSN degree preferred; ADN with 2+ years experience considered
- ACLS/BLS certification required (or obtain within 30 days)
- Minimum 1 year acute care experience in Med/Surg or ICU
- Strong critical thinking and clinical assessment skills
- Excellent communication and patient education abilities
- EMR proficiency (Epic experience preferred)
- Ability to work 12-hour shifts including nights/weekends
