Responsibilities
- Provide comprehensive patient assessments and develop individualized care plans during overnight hours
- Administer medications and treatments with precision in emergency and routine scenarios
- Coordinate interdisciplinary care teams and communicate critical updates to day-shift staff
- Implement advanced monitoring protocols for high-acuity patients in ICU and telemetry units
- Maintain accurate electronic health records and ensure compliance with JCAHO standards
- Lead rapid response team activations and code blue emergencies
- Mentor new nurses and contribute to continuous quality improvement initiatives
Qualifications
- Active Texas RN license (or compact state eligibility)
- BSN degree or higher (ADN candidates with 2+ years ICU experience considered)
- BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS certifications required
- Minimum 2 years acute care nursing experience in ICU/ER/Telemetry
- Demonstrated proficiency in Epic EMR and critical care monitoring systems
- Exceptional critical thinking skills and rapid decision-making abilities
- Strong communication skills for effective overnight handoffs
- Flexibility to work rotating weekends and holidays
