Responsibilities
- Assist physicians with patient examinations and procedures in weekend clinic settings
- Perform vital sign monitoring and EKGs for weekend patient visits
- Administer medications and injections under physician supervision
- Maintain accurate electronic health records for weekend patient encounters
- Prepare exam rooms and sterilize equipment for weekend procedures
- Coordinate patient flow and scheduling for weekend appointments
- Provide patient education on treatment plans and weekend care protocols
Qualifications
- Current Louisiana Medical Assistant certification required
- Minimum 1 year clinical experience in outpatient or urgent care setting
- Strong knowledge of medical terminology and HIPAA compliance
- Excellent venipuncture and phlebotomy skills
- Ability to work independently during weekend shifts with minimal supervision
- Valid BLS/CPR certification
- Proficiency in EHR systems (e.g., Epic, Cerner)
- Spanish language skills preferred for diverse patient population
