Responsibilities
- Design and optimize chemical processes to enhance efficiency and safety standards
- Lead HAZOP studies and risk assessments for refinery operations
- Develop P&IDs and process flow diagrams using industry-standard software
- Mentor junior engineers and coordinate cross-functional project teams
- Implement Six Sigma methodologies to reduce operational costs
- Ensure compliance with EPA and OSHA regulations
- Manage capital projects from conception to commissioning
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives in production workflows
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Chemical Engineering (Master's preferred)
- 8+ years of process engineering experience in oil/gas or petrochemicals
- Professional Engineering (PE) license required
- Expertise in process simulation software (HYSYS, PRO/II)
- Strong knowledge of process safety management (PSM)
- Proven track record of leading capital projects
- Six Sigma Black Belt certification preferred
- Experience with refinery turnarounds and startups
