Responsibilities
- Oversee the end-to-end deployment pipelines for microservices using CI/CD tools like Jenkins and GitLab CI.
- Monitor system metrics and application logs in real-time to proactively identify and mitigate potential outages.
- Execute on-call rotation duties during night hours to resolve critical incidents and perform emergency patches.
- Automate infrastructure provisioning and configuration management using Infrastructure as Code (IaC) practices.
- Collaborate with day-shift teams to hand off completed tasks and ensure seamless transition of knowledge.
- Optimize database performance and resource allocation during off-peak hours to reduce costs and improve latency.
- Conduct security audits and vulnerability assessments on the production environment to ensure compliance.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in DevOps, SRE, or Systems Engineering roles.
- Strong proficiency in Linux shell scripting and Python or Go.
- Deep understanding of containerization technologies, specifically Docker and Kubernetes.
- Experience managing cloud infrastructure on AWS or Azure (S3, EC2, Lambda, RDS).
- Proven track record of working successfully in a night shift or rotating shift environment.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
