Responsibilities
- Design and implement novel quantum algorithms for optimization and simulation problems
- Develop error correction protocols for fault-tolerant quantum computing
- Collaborate with hardware teams to translate theoretical models into practical implementations
- Publish research in peer-reviewed journals and present at international conferences
- Mentor junior researchers and lead cross-functional quantum projects
- Secure external funding through NSF and DARPA grant applications
- Stay current with emerging quantum technologies and industry standards
Qualifications
- PhD in Physics, Computer Science, or related quantum field with 3+ years postdoctoral experience
- Expertise in quantum programming languages (Q#, Qiskit, Cirq)
- Proven track record of published quantum algorithm research
- Familiarity with quantum hardware architectures (superconducting, trapped ion, photonic)
- Strong mathematical foundation in linear algebra, group theory, and probability
- Experience with high-performance computing and parallel processing
- Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to communicate complex concepts
