Responsibilities
- Design and implement novel quantum algorithms for optimization, cryptography, and machine learning applications
- Develop error-correction protocols to stabilize multi-qubit systems
- Collaborate with hardware teams to prototype quantum processors at 50+ qubit scales
- Lead open-source contributions to quantum programming frameworks like Qiskit and Cirq
- Publish high-impact research in Nature/Science journals and present at IEEE Quantum Week
- Mentor junior researchers and supervise graduate student projects
- Secure $1M+ in annual R&D grants through NSF and DoE proposals
Qualifications
- PhD in Quantum Physics, Computer Science, or Electrical Engineering with 3+ years industry experience
- Published work in top-tier quantum computing journals (e.g., PRX Quantum, Quantum)
- Expertise in quantum circuit design and fault-tolerant architectures
- Proficiency in Python, C++, and quantum assembly languages
- Hands-on experience with quantum simulators (Qiskit, IBM Quantum Experience)
- Strong background in linear algebra, group theory, and statistical mechanics
- Proven track record of translating theoretical models into experimental prototypes
- Ability to secure competitive research funding through grant writing
