Responsibilities
- Design and implement novel quantum algorithms for optimization and machine learning applications
- Lead experiments on D-Wave and IBM quantum processors to benchmark performance
- Collaborate with theoretical physicists to develop error correction protocols for fault-tolerant systems
- Author peer-reviewed publications for Nature Physics and IEEE journals
- Secure $5M+ in government grants for quantum supremacy projects
- Mentor PhD candidates in quantum information theory
- Develop roadmaps for quantum advantage in cryptography and materials science
Qualifications
- PhD in Quantum Computing, Physics, or Computer Science (or equivalent research experience)
- 3+ years hands-on experience with quantum programming languages (Qiskit, Cirq, or Quipper)
- Published research in quantum algorithms or quantum error correction
- Proficiency in Python, C++, and high-performance computing frameworks
- Deep understanding of quantum entanglement and decoherence phenomena
- Experience with quantum annealing optimization techniques
- Track record of translating theoretical models into practical implementations
- Strong background in linear algebra and probability theory
