Responsibilities
- Lead quantum algorithm development for NISQ-era processors and fault-tolerant systems
- Design and implement quantum error correction codes achieving >99.9% fidelity
- Coordinate cross-functional teams across physics, materials science, and software engineering
- Secure $5M+ in research grants and partnerships with national labs
- Publish 3+ high-impact papers/year in Nature/Science journals
- Develop quantum-safe cryptographic protocols for post-quantum cybersecurity
- mentor PhD candidates and postdoctoral researchers
Qualifications
- PhD in Quantum Computing, Theoretical Physics, or Computer Science with 5+ years research
- Proven track record of publishing in top-tier quantum computing journals
- Expertise in quantum circuit optimization and compiler design
- Experience with quantum programming languages (Qiskit, Cirq, Quil)
- Strong background in quantum error correction and fault tolerance
- Demonstrated ability to secure federal research grants (NSF, DARPA, DOE)
- Proficiency in high-performance computing environments
