Responsibilities
- Design and implement novel quantum algorithms for optimization and machine learning applications
- Lead cross-functional teams of physicists, engineers, and data scientists
- Develop error-correction protocols for scalable quantum systems
- Secure $2M+ in research grants from NSF and DARPA
- Publish peer-reviewed papers in Nature Physics/Science journals
- Partner with industry leaders to commercialize quantum solutions
- Mentor PhD researchers and interns in quantum theory
- Drive ethical frameworks for quantum AI development
Qualifications
- PhD in Quantum Physics, Computer Science, or related field (or equivalent experience)
- 5+ years in quantum computing research with published breakthroughs
- Expertise in Qiskit, Cirq, or equivalent quantum programming frameworks
- Proven track record of securing government research funding
- Deep understanding of quantum error correction and fault tolerance
- Experience leading technical teams of 10+ researchers
- Patents in quantum algorithms or hardware optimization
- Familiarity with NISQ-era hardware constraints and opportunities
