Responsibilities
- Harvesting: Perform manual labor tasks including picking, pruning, and harvesting crops according to quality and time specifications.
- Machinery Operation: Safely operate and maintain farm equipment such as tractors, planters, and harvesters.
- Field Maintenance: Prepare fields for planting and maintain irrigation systems.
- Safety Compliance: Adhere strictly to all OSHA safety regulations and farm-specific safety protocols.
- Quality Control: Inspect crops for quality and report any issues or pest infestations to supervisors.
- Transportation: Load, unload, and transport harvested goods to storage or processing facilities.
- Cleanliness: Maintain a clean and organized work environment to ensure operational efficiency.
Qualifications
- Visa Eligibility: Must be eligible for H2A visa sponsorship or hold a valid work visa for the United States.
- Physical Stamina: Ability to perform physical labor for extended periods, including standing, bending, and lifting heavy objects (up to 50 lbs).
- Weather Tolerance: Willingness to work in various weather conditions, including heat, rain, and cold.
- Communication: Basic English comprehension skills to follow instructions and communicate effectively with the team.
- Availability: Must be available to work part-time hours, including early mornings, weekends, and holidays as needed.
- Experience: Prior experience in agriculture, farming, or horticulture is preferred but not required.
- Driver's License: A valid driver's license is a plus for traveling between work sites.
