Responsibilities
- Plant, cultivate, and harvest seasonal crops including tobacco, corn, and soybeans
- Operate farm machinery (tractors, harvesters) with proper safety protocols
- Monitor crop health and report pest/disease issues to supervisors
- Maintain irrigation systems and apply fertilizers/pesticides as directed
- Sort, pack, and prepare crops for shipment according to quality standards
- Adhere to all USDA and OSHA safety regulations
- Assist in general farm maintenance and equipment upkeep
Qualifications
- Must be eligible for H2A visa sponsorship program
- Minimum 6 months prior agricultural/farming experience required
- Ability to perform manual labor in outdoor conditions (heat, humidity)
- Valid driver's license preferred for equipment operation
- Basic English communication skills for safety instructions
- Flexible availability including early mornings and weekends
- Physical ability to lift 50+ pounds and stand for extended periods
- Reliable transportation to worksite (housing provided if needed)
