Are you a night owl looking to make a significant impact? Nexus Technologies is seeking a highly skilled Night Shift Systems Administrator to ensure the stability and security of our critical infrastructure.
As a key member of our 24/7 operations team, you will be responsible for maintaining server health, executing maintenance tasks, and resolving complex technical issues when the rest of the office is asleep. This is a direct hire position offering a competitive salary and a stable work environment.
Responsibilities
- Monitor system performance and health using advanced monitoring tools (e.g., SolarWinds, Nagios) during night hours.
- Execute critical maintenance tasks, including security patching, updates, and backups during low-traffic periods.
- Respond to and resolve high-priority alerts and tickets that arise overnight.
- Perform root cause analysis for system outages and implement preventative measures.
- Collaborate with the Day Shift team to hand off tickets and ensure seamless service continuity.
- Document nightly procedures and incident reports accurately.
Qualifications
- 3+ years of experience in Systems Administration or IT Support, preferably in a night shift environment.
- Strong proficiency in Windows Server and Linux administration.
- Familiarity with networking concepts, DNS, DHCP, and Active Directory.
- Experience with remote monitoring and alerting systems.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
- Availability to work a rotating night shift schedule.
