Responsibilities
- Design and validate propulsion systems for lunar and deep-space missions
- Lead development of autonomous navigation algorithms for interplanetary travel
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate avionics and life support systems
- Conduct failure mode analysis and risk mitigation for critical components
- Research emerging technologies (quantum computing, AI-driven robotics) for space applications
- Mentor junior engineers and present technical findings to stakeholders
- Ensure compliance with NASA and international space safety standards
Qualifications
- Masters in Aerospace/Systems Engineering or related field (PhD preferred)
- 5+ years experience in spacecraft propulsion or navigation systems
- Proficiency in MATLAB/Simulink, CAD (SolidWorks), and Python
- Experience with fault-tolerant systems design and verification
- Strong knowledge of orbital mechanics and space environment challenges
- Certification in Systems Engineering (INCOSE or equivalent)
- Demonstrated project leadership in aerospace development cycles
- Clearance for NASA facility access (or ability to obtain)
