Responsibilities
- Field Operations: Perform essential tasks including planting, harvesting, weeding, and thinning crops according to farm schedules and standards.
- Equipment Handling: Operate farm machinery and hand tools safely and efficiently under the supervision of farm managers.
- Crop Maintenance: Monitor crop health, apply fertilizers or pesticides (when certified), and ensure proper irrigation.
- Packing & Quality Control: Assist in sorting, grading, and packing produce to meet market quality specifications.
- Safety Compliance: Adhere strictly to all OSHA safety guidelines and farm safety protocols to prevent accidents.
- Environmental Stewardship: Maintain clean workspaces, manage waste disposal, and follow sustainable farming practices.
- Team Collaboration: Work effectively in a fast-paced team environment, communicating effectively with supervisors and fellow workers.
Qualifications
- Eligibility: Must be eligible for or already possess a valid H2A agricultural work visa.
- Experience: Prior experience in farming, agriculture, or general labor is preferred but not always required; a strong work ethic is essential.
- Physical Stamina: Ability to stand, walk, and lift heavy objects (up to 50 lbs) for extended periods in various weather conditions.
- Driver's License: Valid driver's license is required for transportation to and from work sites.
- Health: Ability to pass a basic pre-employment health screening and drug test.
- Communication: Basic English language skills sufficient for following instructions and understanding safety procedures.
- Availability: Willingness to work flexible hours, including weekends and holidays during peak harvest seasons.
