We are seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Systems Engineer to join our critical weekend operations team. At Brightwave Solutions, we pride ourselves on delivering seamless digital experiences 24/7. In this role, you will be the backbone of our weekend infrastructure, ensuring high availability and performance for our clients while enjoying a balanced work schedule.
You will work a fixed schedule (typically Saturday and Sunday) with the rest of the week off. This is an excellent opportunity for professionals who want to specialize in off-hours support without sacrificing their weekdays.
Responsibilities
- Monitor Infrastructure: Proactively monitor server health, network traffic, and application performance during weekend hours to identify and resolve potential issues before they impact users.
- Maintenance & Patching: Execute scheduled maintenance tasks, software updates, and security patching to ensure system stability and security compliance.
- Troubleshooting: Diagnose and resolve complex technical incidents escalated from the support team during the weekend.
- Database Management: Perform routine database backups, integrity checks, and optimization tasks.
- Incident Response: Follow incident management protocols and document resolutions in the ticketing system.
- Collaboration: Communicate effectively with the on-call team and stakeholders regarding system status and any critical alerts.
Qualifications
- Experience: Minimum of 2-3 years of experience in IT support, systems administration, or network engineering.
- Availability: Must be available to work weekends consistently (Saturday and Sunday) for the duration of the contract.
- Technical Skills: Strong knowledge of Linux/Windows Server environments, virtualization (VMware/Hyper-V), and cloud platforms (AWS/Azure).
- Tools: Proficiency with monitoring tools (e.g., Datadog, Prometheus) and ticketing systems (e.g., Jira, ServiceNow).
- Communication: Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to write clear technical documentation.
- Education: Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or equivalent work experience.
