Responsibilities
- Architect scalable backend systems for remote Arctic infrastructure projects
- Lead cross-functional teams in developing IoT solutions for extreme environments
- Optimize data pipelines for low-bandwidth, high-latency networks
- Mentor junior engineers and conduct technical reviews
- Collaborate with product teams on roadmap prioritization
- Implement CI/CD pipelines and cloud infrastructure (AWS/GCP)
- Contribute to open-source projects serving northern communities
Qualifications
- 5+ years of experience in backend development (Python/Node.js preferred)
- Expertise in distributed systems and microservices architecture
- Experience with cloud platforms (AWS/GCP) and containerization (Docker/Kubernetes)
- Strong background in data modeling and SQL/NoSQL databases
- Ability to work effectively in remote/hybrid environments
