Responsibilities
- 24/7 Monitoring: Monitor security events, alerts, and tickets through our SIEM platform (Splunk/Sentinel) to identify potential cyber threats.
- Incident Response: Lead the investigation and containment of security incidents, executing playbooks to minimize downtime and data loss.
- Threat Hunting: Proactively hunt for advanced persistent threats (APTs) and malicious actors within our network environment.
- Reporting: Generate detailed incident reports and trend analysis for management to inform strategic security decisions.
- Vulnerability Management: Assist in the identification and remediation of security vulnerabilities across systems and applications.
- Collaboration: Liaise with IT and development teams to ensure security controls are effectively integrated into workflows.
Qualifications
- Experience: Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in a Security Operations Center (SOC) environment.
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Cybersecurity, or related field (or equivalent military/technical experience).
- Certifications: CISSP, CEH, GCFA, or similar security certifications are highly preferred.
- Tools: Proficiency with SIEM tools (Splunk, QRadar, or similar), IDS/IPS, and firewalls.
- Availability: Must be willing and able to work rotating night shifts (e.g., 10 PM - 6 AM or 11 PM - 7 AM).
- Communication: Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to explain complex technical issues to non-technical stakeholders.
