In this pivotal role, you will design and implement robust microservices architectures that can handle millions of concurrent users. You will work closely with product leads and frontend developers to deliver a seamless, real-time experience for fans globally.
Responsibilities
- Architect and maintain scalable backend systems for the 2026 World Cup platform, ensuring 99.99% uptime under peak loads.
- Design and implement RESTful APIs and GraphQL services to support mobile applications and web portals.
- Mentor junior engineers and conduct technical code reviews to maintain high engineering standards.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams (DevOps, QA, Product) to drive agile development cycles and CI/CD pipelines.
- Optimize database queries and system architecture to ensure low latency and high throughput.
- Identify technical risks early and propose innovative solutions to complex engineering challenges.
Qualifications
- Minimum of 7+ years of professional software development experience with a focus on backend systems.
- Deep proficiency in Python or Go and experience with asynchronous programming.
- Strong understanding of cloud infrastructure (AWS or GCP) and containerization technologies (Docker, Kubernetes).
- Experience with distributed systems, message queues (RabbitMQ, Kafka), and NoSQL databases (MongoDB, DynamoDB).
- Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to communicate complex technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
- Experience in high-traffic, high-availability environments is highly preferred.
