Responsibilities
- Provide critical care for post-surgical and trauma patients in 24-bed ICU unit
- Administer medications and treatments per physician protocols
- Monitor and interpret patient vital signs using advanced monitoring systems
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary team for comprehensive care plans
- Document patient assessments and interventions in EMR system
- Educate patients and families on post-ICU recovery procedures
- Respond rapidly to emergency situations and code blue activations
Qualifications
- Active Texas RN license (or compact state license)
- Minimum 2 years ICU/critical care experience
- BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS certifications required
- BSN degree preferred (ADN candidates with experience considered)
- Proficiency in Epic EMR system
- Strong critical thinking and decision-making abilities
- Ability to work 12-hour shifts including nights/weekends
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills
