Responsibilities
- Design and implement quantum algorithms for optimization problems
- Develop error-correction protocols for NISQ-era quantum processors
- Collaborate with hardware teams to calibrate qubit stability
- Lead open-source contributions to Qiskit and Cirq frameworks
- Present findings at IEEE Quantum Week and ACM conferences
- Mentor junior researchers in quantum programming best practices
- Author patents for novel quantum cryptographic methods
Qualifications
- PhD in Physics, Computer Science, or related field (or equivalent experience)
- 3+ years hands-on quantum programming experience
- Published research in Nature/Science journals preferred
- Proficiency in Python with quantum libraries (Qiskit, Cirq)
- Deep understanding of quantum entanglement and superposition
- Experience with superconducting qubit systems
- Strong background in linear algebra and group theory
- Clearance for DOE quantum research projects
