Responsibilities
- Design and implement quantum algorithms for optimization and simulation problems
- Develop error-corrected qubit architectures using superconducting and photonic systems
- Lead cross-functional teams in prototyping quantum processors at 50+ qubit scale
- Publish peer-reviewed research in Nature/Science journals and present at IEEE conferences
- Secure patents for novel quantum gate operations and measurement techniques
- Mentor PhD researchers and establish industry partnerships with IBM/Google Quantum
Qualifications
- PhD in Quantum Physics, Computer Science, or Electrical Engineering
- 3+ years of hands-on quantum circuit design experience with Qiskit/Cirq
- Publication record in top-tier quantum computing journals
- Proficiency in cryogenic engineering and microwave control systems
- Expertise in quantum error correction codes (surface code, LDPC)
- Strong background in machine learning for quantum data analysis
- Active security clearance or ability to obtain DOE Q clearance
