In this role, you'll collaborate with Nobel laureates and industry pioneers to develop scalable quantum algorithms, optimize qubit stability, and translate theoretical models into practical applications.
Our Austin-based innovation hub offers unparalleled resources for quantum experimentation, including access to 100+ qubit processors and cryogenic infrastructure. You'll lead projects in quantum machine learning, cryptography, and materials science while mentoring the next wave of quantum engineers.
Responsibilities
- Design and implement novel quantum algorithms for optimization and simulation challenges
- Develop error-correction protocols to enhance qubit coherence beyond current industry standards
- Lead interdisciplinary research teams in quantum-classical hybrid system integration
- Publish breakthrough findings in top-tier journals and present at major quantum conferences
- Collaborate with hardware teams to co-design next-generation quantum processors
- Secure and manage multi-million dollar research grants from NSF and DARPA
- Mentor postdoctoral researchers and PhD candidates in quantum information theory
Qualifications
- PhD in Quantum Physics, Computer Science, or related field with 5+ years research experience
- Published record in Nature/Science or equivalent quantum computing breakthroughs
- Expertise in quantum error correction, topological qubits, or fault-tolerant architectures
- Proficiency in quantum programming languages (Qiskit, Cirq, Q#) and high-performance computing
- Demonstrated success in securing federal research funding ($1M+)
- Experience leading international quantum research collaborations
- Strong background in machine learning and statistical physics
