Responsibilities
- Lead quantum algorithm development for optimization, simulation, and cryptography applications
- Design and execute experiments on fault-tolerant quantum processors
- Collaborate with hardware engineers to bridge quantum software-hardware interfaces
- Publish 3+ peer-reviewed papers annually in top-tier journals (Nature, Science, etc.)
- Mentor postdoctoral researchers and drive cross-functional innovation
- Secure $2M+ in annual research grants from NSF, DOE, and industry partners
- Develop quantum machine learning frameworks for enterprise applications
Qualifications
- PhD in Quantum Physics, Computer Science, or Applied Mathematics (postdoc preferred)
- 5+ years of hands-on quantum programming (Q#, Qiskit, Cirq)
- Published work in quantum error correction or topological quantum computing
- Expertise in quantum circuit optimization and simulation techniques
- Proficiency in high-performance computing environments (HPC, cloud)
- Experience securing federal or corporate research grants
- Demonstrated ability to lead multidisciplinary technical teams
