Responsibilities
- Design and implement novel quantum algorithms for optimization and simulation challenges
- Lead experimental quantum hardware prototyping and error mitigation research
- Develop quantum machine learning frameworks for commercial applications
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to translate research into patentable innovations
- Secure federal grants and publish in top-tier journals (Nature, Science, etc.)
- Mentor junior researchers and contribute to quantum education initiatives
Qualifications
- PhD in Physics, Computer Science, or related field with quantum specialization
- 3+ years of hands-on quantum algorithm development experience
- Proficiency with quantum programming languages (Qiskit, Cirq, Q#)
- Published research in quantum computing or theoretical physics
- Strong background in linear algebra, probability theory, and computational complexity
- Demonstrated ability to secure research funding or industry partnerships
- Experience with superconducting or ion-trap quantum systems preferred
