Responsibilities
- Design and implement novel quantum algorithms for optimization and simulation problems
- Develop quantum error correction protocols for fault-tolerant computing systems
- Lead experimental validation of quantum hardware prototypes at cryogenic temperatures
- Collaborate with hardware teams to integrate quantum processors with classical computing architectures
- Publish research in Nature/Science journals and present at IEEE/APS conferences
- Secure $1M+ in annual research grants from NSF/DARPA/industry partners
- Mentor PhD researchers and patent 3+ quantum computing innovations annually
Qualifications
- PhD in Quantum Physics, Computer Science, or related field with 5+ years research experience
- Published 15+ peer-reviewed papers in quantum computing or quantum information theory
- Expertise in quantum circuit design and quantum machine learning frameworks
- Proficiency with quantum computing platforms (Qiskit, Cirq, Q#)
- Experience with superconducting qubit systems or trapped ion technologies
- Demonstrated ability to secure federal research funding
- Strong Python/C++ programming skills and HPC cluster management experience
- US citizenship required for government contract compliance
