Responsibilities
- Design and implement novel quantum algorithms for optimization and simulation problems
- Develop quantum error-correction protocols to achieve fault-tolerant computation
- Lead cross-functional projects with hardware engineers to optimize qubit coherence times
- Publish groundbreaking research in Nature/Science journals and present at IEEE Quantum Week
- Secure $2M+ in external research grants through NSF/DoE partnerships
- Mentor postdoctoral researchers and develop quantum computing curricula
- Drive commercialization of quantum solutions through industry collaborations
Qualifications
- PhD in Quantum Physics, Computer Science, or Electrical Engineering (or equivalent)
- 3+ years of hands-on quantum computing research with published papers
- Expertise in quantum programming languages (Q#, Quil, or Qiskit)
- Deep understanding of quantum error correction and fault tolerance
- Experience with quantum hardware platforms (IBM Quantum, Rigetti, or IonQ)
- Proven track record of securing federal research grants
- Strong Python/C++ programming and algorithm design skills
