Responsibilities
- Design and implement novel quantum algorithms for optimization and simulation challenges
- Lead experimental validation of quantum supremacy protocols in cryogenic environments
- Develop error-correction frameworks for fault-tolerant quantum systems
- Collaborate with hardware teams to co-design quantum processor architectures
- Publish peer-reviewed research in Nature/Science journals and present at IEEE Quantum Week
- Secure federal and private research grants totaling $1M+ annually
- Mentor postdoctoral researchers in quantum information theory
Qualifications
- PhD in Quantum Physics, Computer Science, or Applied Mathematics (postdoc preferred)
- 3+ years hands-on experience with quantum programming (Qiskit, Cirq, or Q#)
- Published research in quantum error correction or algorithm optimization
- Proficiency in Python, MATLAB, and low-level quantum assembly languages
- Demonstrated ability to secure NSF or DOE quantum research funding
