Responsibilities
- Lead strategic research initiatives in quantum algorithm development for practical applications
- Manage cross-functional teams of physicists, engineers, and computer scientists
- Design and validate quantum error correction protocols for fault-tolerant systems
- Collaborate with industry partners to translate research into commercial solutions
- Secure and manage $5M+ annual research budgets through federal and private grants
- Present findings at premier conferences and publish in high-impact journals
- Develop quantum security frameworks for next-gen encryption standards
Qualifications
- PhD in Quantum Physics, Computer Science, or related field with 5+ years research experience
- Proven track record of publishing in Nature/Science or equivalent tier journals
- Expertise in quantum circuit design and quantum machine learning frameworks
- Experience securing DoE or NSF grants exceeding $2M
- Proficiency in quantum simulation tools (Qiskit, Cirq, or Q#)
- Strong background in cryogenic engineering and quantum hardware integration
- Demonstrated leadership managing research teams of 10+ scientists
- Published work on quantum error correction by 2025
