Responsibilities
- Design and implement novel quantum algorithms for optimization and machine learning applications
- Lead cross-functional research teams in developing fault-tolerant quantum computing architectures
- Secure $2M+ in government and private sector R&D funding through compelling proposals
- Publish breakthrough findings in Nature/Science journals and present at IEEE Quantum Week
- Collaborate with hardware teams to co-design quantum processors and error-correction protocols
- Develop IP strategy protecting core quantum methodologies for commercialization
- Mentor PhD researchers and establish university partnerships for talent pipeline
Qualifications
- PhD in Quantum Computing, Theoretical Physics, or Computational Mathematics
- 5+ years of industry R&D experience with quantum algorithms or quantum error correction
- Published record in top-tier quantum computing publications (minimum 3 first-author papers)
- Proficiency in Qiskit, Cirq, and quantum circuit optimization frameworks
- Expertise in quantum machine learning and variational quantum algorithms
- Proven track record of securing competitive research grants (NSF, DARPA, etc.)
- Experience mentoring postdoctoral researchers and leading technical teams
