Responsibilities
- Design and implement quantum computing hardware infrastructure supporting 50+ qubit systems
- Develop cryogenic control systems and quantum error correction protocols
- Collaborate with quantum algorithm teams to optimize hardware-software integration
- Lead deployment of quantum networks across US research facilities
- Monitor and maintain quantum system performance with predictive analytics
- Document quantum infrastructure specifications and security protocols
- Mentor junior engineers in quantum computing best practices
Qualifications
- PhD in Physics, Computer Science, or related field with 3+ years quantum computing experience
- Proficiency in quantum programming languages (Qiskit, Cirq, or Q#)
- Expertise in cryogenic engineering and superconducting qubit systems
- Strong background in distributed computing architectures and high-performance networking
- Experience with quantum error correction algorithms and fault-tolerant designs
- Published research in quantum computing or quantum information theory
- Security clearance eligibility for DoD quantum research partnerships
