Responsibilities
- Collect Blood Samples: Perform venipunctures and capillary blood draws efficiently and accurately according to established protocols.
- Patient Interaction: Ensure a positive patient experience by explaining procedures clearly and maintaining a calm, professional demeanor.
- Sample Handling: Properly label, log, and transport specimens to the laboratory for processing.
- Equipment Maintenance: Maintain and sterilize phlebotomy equipment and workstations to ensure compliance with health and safety standards.
- Record Keeping: Accurately document patient information and test results in electronic health records (EHR) systems.
Qualifications
- Certification: Current California State Certified Phlebotomist (CPT) or Medical Assistant (MA) certification required.
- Experience: Minimum of 1 year of clinical experience in a healthcare setting preferred.
- Licensure: Valid California driver's license and proof of auto insurance.
- Skills: Proficiency in venipuncture techniques, patient vitals, and basic medical terminology.
- Education: High school diploma or GED required; Associate degree in a healthcare field is a plus.
