Responsibilities
- Oversee Daily Operations: Manage the end-to-day functioning of the Long Beach facility, ensuring all logistics operations run smoothly and efficiently.
- Team Leadership: Recruit, train, and supervise a diverse team of logistics coordinators, warehouse staff, and shipping personnel.
- Process Optimization: Identify bottlenecks in current workflows and implement Lean Six Sigma methodologies to improve productivity and reduce costs.
- Inventory Management: Ensure accurate stock levels, inventory control, and timely fulfillment of orders through rigorous quality assurance checks.
- Regulatory Compliance: Ensure strict adherence to local, state, and federal safety regulations, labor laws, and environmental standards.
- Budget Management: Develop and monitor operational budgets, forecasting expenses and managing resource allocation effectively.
- Stakeholder Communication: Serve as the primary point of contact for clients, vendors, and internal management regarding operational status and performance reports.
Qualifications
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Logistics, Supply Chain Management, or a related field is required.
- Experience: Minimum of 5 years of experience in operations management, preferably within the logistics, warehousing, or shipping industry.
- Technical Skills: Proficiency with ERP systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle, or similar) and Microsoft Office Suite is essential.
- Problem Solving: Strong analytical skills with the ability to troubleshoot complex logistical issues under pressure.
- Communication: Excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to lead effective meetings and presentations.
- Leadership: Demonstrated ability to lead, motivate, and develop a high-performing team in a fast-paced environment.
- Local Knowledge: Familiarity with California labor laws and the Long Beach/Port of Long Beach logistics ecosystem is a significant advantage.
