Responsibilities
- Continuous Monitoring: Oversee the health and performance of our server infrastructure, network devices, and applications 24/7 to ensure maximum uptime.
- Incident Response: Rapidly troubleshoot and resolve alerts, outages, and service degradation issues during the night window to minimize impact on our clients.
- Root Cause Analysis: Perform deep-dive analysis on incidents to identify underlying trends and implement preventative measures for the following day shift.
- Reporting: Generate and submit comprehensive nightly incident reports and status updates to senior management and the Day Shift team.
- Automation: Develop and maintain scripts (Python/Bash) to automate routine monitoring tasks and improve operational efficiency.
- Escalation Management: Serve as the primary point of contact for critical escalations, coordinating with external vendors and internal departments as needed.
Qualifications
- Experience: Minimum of 3 years of experience in a Network Operations Center (NOC), Help Desk, or System Administration role.
- Technical Skills: Proficiency with TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, routing protocols, and firewall management.
- Tools: Strong familiarity with monitoring tools such as SolarWinds, Zabbix, or Nagios.
- Scripting: Basic to intermediate scripting skills in Python or Bash for log analysis and automation.
- Availability: Must be willing and able to work rotating night shifts (e.g., 10:00 PM - 6:00 AM).
- Communication: Excellent written and verbal communication skills for documenting complex technical issues clearly.
