Responsibilities
- Monitor network traffic and performance using advanced monitoring tools (SolarWinds, Nagios) to ensure 99.9% uptime.
- Diagnose and resolve complex network outages and connectivity issues during off-peak hours.
- Configure, maintain, and secure firewalls, routers, and switches within the corporate infrastructure.
- Perform routine maintenance tasks, including firmware updates, patch management, and hardware audits.
- Document network configurations, changes, and incident reports in our centralized knowledge base.
- Collaborate with the Day Shift team to hand over status reports and plan for upcoming infrastructure upgrades.
- Respond to escalated tickets and support requests from internal stakeholders with urgency and precision.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or equivalent work experience.
- Certifications such as CCNA, CCNP, or equivalent industry-recognized credentials.
- Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in network engineering, specifically within a 24/7 operational environment.
- Strong working knowledge of TCP/IP, OSI models, routing, and switching protocols.
- Proven ability to troubleshoot complex issues in Linux and Windows Server environments.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to explain technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
- Must be willing to work rotating night shifts (e.g., 10:00 PM - 6:00 AM).
