Responsibilities
- Provide direct patient care during overnight hours including vital signs, medication administration, and treatment assistance
- Accurately document patient records and maintain electronic health records (EHR) systems
- Coordinate with on-call physicians and day shift teams for seamless patient handovers
- Assist in emergency response procedures and critical care situations during night hours
- Manage patient flow and ensure exam rooms are prepared for incoming patients
- Monitor equipment functionality and restock medical supplies overnight
- Maintain strict HIPAA compliance and patient confidentiality standards
Qualifications
- Current Maryland Medical Assistant certification (CMA or RMA)
- Minimum 1 year of clinical experience in hospital or urgent care setting
- BLS/CPR certification required (ACLS preferred)
- Proven ability to work independently with minimal supervision during night shifts
- Strong documentation skills with proficiency in EHR systems (Epic preferred)
- Excellent communication skills for cross-team collaboration
- Ability to remain alert and make critical decisions during overnight hours
- Flexibility to work weekends and holidays as needed
