Job Overview
As the Night Shift IT Support Specialist, you will act as the primary point of contact for technical issues arising after hours. Your role is vital in maintaining the integrity of our network and resolving critical incidents without disrupting daytime operations.
Responsibilities
- Monitor Systems: Proactively monitor server health, network traffic, and application performance to ensure 24/7 uptime.
- Troubleshoot Incidents: Diagnose and resolve hardware, software, and network issues reported by internal users.
- Escalation Management: Handle and triage critical incidents, escalating to senior engineers if necessary.
- User Support: Provide remote and on-site technical support, including password resets, software installation, and hardware repairs.
- Documentation: Maintain accurate logs of incidents, resolutions, and system changes in the ticketing system.
- Security Compliance: Adhere to cybersecurity protocols and conduct routine security checks during the shift.
- Shift Handover: Conduct thorough briefings with the incoming day shift team to ensure continuity of service.
Qualifications
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or equivalent work experience.
- Experience: Minimum of 3 years of IT support experience, preferably in a night shift or 24/7 environment.
- Technical Skills: Proficiency in Windows and Linux operating systems, Active Directory, and network troubleshooting (TCP/IP, DNS).
- Communication: Excellent verbal and written communication skills to interact with diverse teams.
- Reliability: Strong ability to work independently and adhere to strict schedules.
- Certifications: CompTIA A+, Network+, or Security+ is a plus.
- Soft Skills: Problem-solving mindset and ability to remain calm under pressure.
