As a Night Shift IT Specialist, you will play a critical role in maintaining the integrity and uptime of our enterprise systems. We are seeking a self-starter who thrives in a quiet, focused environment and can resolve complex technical challenges without direct supervision.
Responsibilities
- Monitor Infrastructure: Continuously monitor server health, network traffic, and system performance to ensure 99.9% uptime during night hours.
- Troubleshoot & Repair: Diagnose and resolve hardware and software incidents reported by internal teams, escalating complex issues to senior management when necessary.
- Security Management: Apply security patches and updates to operating systems and applications to protect corporate data against emerging threats.
- Data Integrity: Perform nightly backups, data verification, and storage maintenance to ensure business continuity.
- Documentation: Maintain accurate logs of all system activities, maintenance performed, and incidents resolved during the shift.
- Vendor Coordination: Liaise with third-party vendors or internal support teams to resolve facility or equipment-related issues.
Qualifications
- Education: Associate’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field; equivalent professional experience is accepted.
- Experience: 3+ years of experience in IT support, system administration, or network operations.
- Availability: Must be available to work rotating night shifts (e.g., 10:00 PM - 6:00 AM) on a full-time basis.
- Technical Skills: Proficiency in Windows Server, Active Directory, TCP/IP networking, and basic scripting (PowerShell or Bash).
- Communication: Excellent verbal and written communication skills to document procedures and report status to the management team.
