Responsibilities
- Plant, cultivate, and harvest seasonal crops (lettuce, onions, melons) using precision agriculture techniques
- Operate and maintain farm machinery including tractors, harvesters, and irrigation systems
- Monitor crop health and implement integrated pest management protocols
- Adhere to strict food safety and quality control standards during all harvesting activities
- Perform field maintenance tasks including soil preparation, weed control, and irrigation management
- Document daily work activities and crop yield data using farm management software
- Collaborate with supervisors to optimize harvest schedules and labor allocation
Qualifications
- Valid H2A visa certification or eligibility to obtain through employer sponsorship
- Minimum 6 months of prior agricultural/harvesting experience
- Ability to work in extreme desert conditions (heat, sun, dust) for extended periods
- Physical stamina to lift 50+ lbs repeatedly and perform manual labor for 8+ hours daily
- Basic literacy and numeracy for equipment operation and data recording
- Willingness to work flexible schedules including early mornings and weekends during peak season
- Strong communication skills and ability to work in diverse team environments
- Clean driving record (for equipment operation)
