Responsibilities
- Develop 3-5 year technology roadmaps for emerging sectors (quantum AI, neural interfaces, climate tech)
- Lead cross-functional R&D initiatives with $50M+ annual innovation budget
- Identify and evaluate disruptive startups for strategic acquisition partnerships
- Present technology forecasts to C-suite and board members quarterly
- Collaborate with MIT/Stanford on next-gen research projects
- Secure patents and intellectual property for breakthrough innovations
- Mentor junior futurists in emerging tech methodologies
Qualifications
- 10+ years in strategic tech planning with Fortune 500 or unicorn startups
- Published research in Nature/Science or equivalent peer-reviewed journals
- Expertise in at least two emerging tech domains (quantum computing, synthetic biology, etc.)
- Proven track record of scaling innovations from lab to market
- PhD or Master's in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field
- Active security clearance or ability to obtain one
- Proficiency in foresight methodologies (horizon scanning, scenario planning)
