Responsibilities
- Develop and execute the 2026 technology strategy roadmap aligned with market trends and business objectives
- Lead research initiatives in emerging fields including quantum algorithms, synthetic biology, and neuro-interfaces
- Build strategic partnerships with academic institutions and startups for technology scouting
- Present technology forecasts and innovation opportunities to executive leadership and investors
- Manage a $5M R&D budget for prototype development and pilot programs
- Mentor a team of 5-7 technology analysts and researchers
- Author thought leadership publications on future technology paradigms
Qualifications
- Master's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field; PhD preferred
- 8+ years in strategic technology planning or R&D leadership
- Proven track record in commercializing emerging technologies (AI, quantum, or biotech)
- Expertise in technology forecasting methodologies and scenario planning
- Strong network within Silicon Valley tech ecosystem and academic institutions
- Experience managing multi-disciplinary R&D teams and complex budgets
- Published research or patents in future-relevant technologies
- Exceptional communication skills for translating complex concepts to diverse stakeholders
