Responsibilities
- Lead quantum algorithm development for cryptography and optimization applications
- Design fault-tolerant quantum systems with error correction protocols
- Collaborate with hardware teams to integrate quantum-classical hybrid architectures
- Secure $5M+ in government/industry research grants
- Mentor interdisciplinary teams of physicists and software engineers
- Publish findings in Nature/Science journals and present at IEEE conferences
- Define technical roadmap for quantum supremacy milestones
Qualifications
- PhD in Quantum Physics, Computer Science, or related field
- 5+ years of hands-on quantum algorithm development experience
- Published research in quantum error correction or topological qubits
- Proficiency in quantum programming languages (Q#, Qiskit, Cirq)
- Proven track record of securing federal research grants
- Expertise in superconducting or photonic quantum hardware
- Strong background in computational complexity theory
- Patent portfolio in quantum technologies preferred
