Responsibilities
- Monitor system performance, uptime, and health across all production servers during off-peak hours.
- Execute critical infrastructure maintenance, patches, and security updates without disrupting daytime business operations.
- Troubleshoot and resolve complex technical issues reported during the night shift, escalating to day teams when necessary.
- Conduct automated nightly backups and verify data integrity to prevent catastrophic data loss.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to optimize system architecture for high availability and scalability.
- Document all night operations, incidents, and resolutions in our internal knowledge base.
- Ensure compliance with internal security protocols and regulatory standards (SOC2, HIPAA).
Qualifications
- 3+ years of experience in IT support, systems engineering, or network administration.
- Strong proficiency in Linux, Windows Server, and virtualization technologies (VMware/Hyper-V).
- Experience with scripting languages (Python or Bash) for automation tasks.
- Ability to work independently and demonstrate strong problem-solving skills under pressure.
- Flexibility to work rotating night shifts (6 PM - 6 AM) on a permanent basis.
- BS in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field preferred.
- Excellent communication skills with a focus on remote collaboration.
