Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and maintain robust backend APIs and microservices to support 24/7 operations.
- Monitor system performance and troubleshoot critical issues during off-peak hours to minimize downtime.
- Collaborate with the 24/7 support team to implement disaster recovery and security protocols.
- Optimize database queries and data pipelines to handle high-volume data loads efficiently.
- Conduct code reviews and mentor junior engineers to maintain high-quality standards.
- Document technical processes and create runbooks for night-crew operations.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related technical field (or equivalent experience).
- 5+ years of professional software development experience, preferably in a high-load production environment.
- Proficiency in Python, Java, or Go and experience with PostgreSQL, MongoDB, or Redis.
- Strong understanding of Linux systems administration and containerization technologies like Docker and Kubernetes.
- Must be available to work the night shift (e.g., 10:00 PM - 6:00 AM) on a full-time basis.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to work autonomously with minimal supervision.
