The Role:
You will be responsible for operating heavy machinery to excavate, move, and grade earth and materials. You will work closely with our project managers to ensure projects are completed on time, within budget, and to the highest safety standards.
Responsibilities
- Operate heavy machinery (Excavators, Backhoes, Skid Steers) efficiently and safely on job sites.
- Read and interpret blueprints, diagrams, and technical plans to execute excavation tasks accurately.
- Perform routine maintenance and pre-shift inspections on all assigned equipment to ensure operational safety.
- Manage waste removal and material transport according to site regulations.
- Adhere strictly to OSHA safety protocols and company policies at all times.
- Collaborate with labor crews to ensure smooth workflow and project progression.
Qualifications
- Minimum of 2 years of verifiable experience operating heavy construction equipment.
- Valid Commercial Driver's License (CDL) or valid Heavy Equipment Operator (HEO) certification is preferred.
- Physical ability to stand, sit, and operate machinery for extended periods; ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
- Strong understanding of basic math for calculating grades and measurements.
- Ability to pass a drug screen and background check.
- Valid state-issued ID or driver’s license.
