Responsibilities
- Monitor System Health: Continuously monitor server performance, network traffic, and application health to ensure 99.9% uptime during night shifts.
- Execute Backups: Perform scheduled database backups and system restores, verifying data integrity before leaving the facility.
- Troubleshoot Issues: Diagnose and resolve hardware and software incidents reported by remote teams or flagged by automated alerts.
- Security Maintenance: Apply critical security patches and updates to operating systems and antivirus software to protect against cyber threats.
- User Support: Assist internal stakeholders with password resets, account access issues, and basic technical inquiries via remote support tools.
- Documentation: Maintain detailed logs of all issues resolved, downtime incidents, and maintenance activities in the IT service management system.
- Equipment Management: Conduct routine physical checks of servers, routers, and switches in the data center.
Qualifications
- Experience: Minimum of 2 years of experience in IT support, system administration, or help desk roles.
- Certifications: CompTIA A+, Network+, or equivalent IT certification is preferred.
- Schedule: Must be available to work night shifts (e.g., 10:00 PM - 6:00 AM or 11:00 PM - 7:00 AM) on a rotating schedule.
- Technical Skills: Proficiency in Windows Server, Active Directory, TCP/IP networking, and basic scripting (PowerShell or Bash).
- Communication: Strong verbal and written communication skills with the ability to document technical processes clearly.
- Problem Solving: Ability to troubleshoot complex technical problems under pressure with minimal supervision.
- Location: Must be legally authorized to work in the United States.
