Responsibilities
- Perform routine physical inspections and cleaning of server racks, cable management, and cooling systems.
- Monitor environmental controls, power distribution units (PDUs), and fire suppression systems 24/7.
- Assist in the installation, configuration, and decommissioning of server hardware and storage arrays.
- Execute security rounds, verify access logs, and manage keycard systems.
- Document all maintenance activities, hardware changes, and incidents in the CMDB.
- Respond to and troubleshoot minor hardware alerts and perform necessary maintenance repairs.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED required; Associate’s degree in IT or related field preferred.
- Previous experience working in a data center, server room, or industrial warehouse setting.
- Basic understanding of computer hardware, networking components, and cabling (Cat6, fiber).
- Ability to lift and carry equipment weighing up to 50 lbs and stand for extended periods.
- Must be legally authorized to work in the United States without sponsorship.
- Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to work independently during night hours.
