Responsibilities
- Develop 5-year technology roadmaps aligning with market trends and business objectives
- Lead R&D initiatives in emerging tech (quantum AI, biocomputing, decentralized systems)
- Partner with product teams to integrate future tech into commercial offerings
- Conduct competitive analysis and patent landscape evaluations
- Mentor junior engineers and present strategic visions to stakeholders
- Secure $2M+ in innovation grants and partnerships
- Author whitepapers on technological convergence and ethical AI
Qualifications
- 10+ years in tech strategy, R&D, or emerging tech leadership
- Expertise in at least two future-tech domains (quantum/AI/AR/biotech)
- Proven track record of launching commercial tech products
- PhD or equivalent in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field
- Strong network with academic institutions and tech incubators
- Experience securing government/private innovation grants
- Fluency in Python, TensorFlow, and system architecture
- Prior experience scaling teams from 5 to 50+ engineers
