Responsibilities
- Develop and implement AI ethics governance frameworks aligned with EU AI Act, NIST guidelines, and emerging standards
- Conduct risk assessments for high-impact AI systems, identifying potential bias and fairness issues
- Partner with engineering teams to integrate ethical design principles into AI development workflows
- Create transparency mechanisms for AI decision-making processes, including explainability documentation
- Lead stakeholder engagement across legal, product, and research teams to align on ethical priorities
- Monitor global regulatory developments and advise on compliance strategies for AI deployments
- Establish audit protocols for AI systems and report on ethical performance metrics
Qualifications
- Master's degree in Computer Science, Ethics, Law, or related field (PhD preferred)
- 5+ years in AI governance, compliance, or ethical technology development
- Deep expertise in AI ethics frameworks (FAIR, Responsible AI, etc.) and regulatory landscapes
- Experience conducting algorithmic bias audits and mitigation strategies
- Strong technical understanding of machine learning systems and deployment architectures
- Excellent communication skills for translating complex ethical concepts to diverse stakeholders
- Certification in AI ethics (e.g., IEEE Ethically Aligned Design) or equivalent
- Portfolio demonstrating previous work on AI ethics initiatives or compliance frameworks
